It's Official!

We passed court!  We passed court!

This is a HUGE surprise to us because we were still waiting to hear about our 2nd court date.  I prayed many times that our 2nd court date would come and go without us even knowing about it and God really pulled through on this one!  Apparently, at some point, we had a 2nd court date and the letter from MOWCYA was in place and we were issued our court decree!

Holt will now work on getting Ty's birth certificate and passport and we wait to hear that our file has been submitted to the US Embassy.  I believe the estimated time frame for this up to three months, and then from submission to visa appointment is up to six weeks.  There is a handful of people who passed court on 2/14 and their visa appointments are for 4/18, but there are a lot of changes going on right now (and always) that may slow this down a bit, not the least of which is the possibility of our Federal Government shutting down indefinitely.

If we lived in Ethiopia, we could technically take custody of our son at this point, but we're not anticipating a move to a third world country any time soon, so we wait...

Oh happy day!
