Wowee! Wow! Wow!

We received our home study report today from our social worker so that we can review it before it gets sent to the Holt office.  Let me give you a little taste:

"Matt and Traci Feaster are kind, resourceful, and committed people.  Their marital relationship appears to be stable and loving.  They share values and goals that enable them to be very capable parents and are committed to developing their childrens' positive sense of identity and self-esteem.  The Feasters are emotionally and financially prepared to add another child to their family.  They have an excellent understanding of the adoption process and issues pertaining to adoptive families.  Both of them are in excellent health, their financial situation is secure, their references are excellent and they have a comfortable home to raise another child.  Mr. and Mrs. Feaster have met all of the requirements for adoption in the State of California and meet all requirements for Immigration and Naturalization Service and Holt International Children’s Services, Inc. 

Matt and Traci are approved to adopt an Ethiopian child of either gender from 0-2 years of age.  The Feasters would like to adopt the healthiest child possible but are open to adopting a child with minor, correctable needs.  It is my pleasure to recommend that Ethiopia place such a child with the Feaster family. " ~ Our SW

Wow.  I'm not really sure to which "Feaster family" she is referring.  This can't possibly be regarding US.  Let me repeat:

"It is my pleasure to recommend that Ethiopia place such a child with the Feaster family."

Gulp.

The emotions are indescribable.  Do you have any idea how it feels to have a social worker recommend that a child be placed with you??  Amazing.  INCREDIBLE!. That's how it feels.  Absolutely incredible.  She didn't even mention punching in the neck!!

This has been a big day for us on the adoption front.  I turned in my passport paperwork today and got to share our story with a few people at the post office.  How great is that!  Unfortunately, things have changed and we now have to include photocopies of our passports in the Dossier, which is going to delay things for us by about a month, but that's alright, because its all about God's timing anyway.  

Elated.

Overjoyed.

Relieved.

Blessed.
