What we know about you on your 9 month birthday!

You are fascinated by your hands and feet like you're seeing them for the first time.
You unintentionally do "A-okay", hook 'em horns, and three-eared shadow puppet dog, and it amazes you EVERY time.

Your belly is the same color as your face.
(Little Bit wasn't so sure without seeing for herself.)

You cannot poop and swallow at the same time.

You love all foods, but aren't sure about the texture of some, especially strawberries.

You have started making a "sour" face each time you start eating.  It kills me.
Your personality is start to really show!

You love to chew on a clean rib bone.

You can pick up Cheerios, but haven't quite figured out how to get them in your mouth.

You are the only baby around that likes to have your face and hands cleaned after eating.

You make a fierce face with your nose crinkled up and your mouth open,
breathing fast in and out through your nose.
It cracks us up every time.

You're not much for sleeping through the night.

You have a tight grip - especially on the back of mommy's arm.

You need to be swaddled so that you can settle down enough to go to sleep.

You don't care of your milk is warm, cold, or room temp.

You have AMAZING hair!

Your skin is flawless, except for a small scar on your right upper arm.

You create quite a commotion when we go out in public.
Lots of "Look at those eyes!", "He's BEAUTIFUL," and "What a gorgeous baby!"

You love the water - bath or pool.

You are SO happy during the day!

You kick your legs and flap your arms in anticipation of mommy, daddy, or sister picking you up.

You love nakey time.

You are getting stronger every day!

You still don't have any teeth.

You are becoming shy with strangers.
We're thrilled about this.

If you don't fall asleep, you will only tolerate your stroller for a short while.

You love riding in the car, as long as your sisters are in there too.

Separation anxiety is kicking in.
We're thrilled about this too.  Kinda.

You can clap your hands together gently when we say "Yay!"

You can stick your tongue out and suck on your top lip all at the same time.
This is very tricky.

You are a drooling machine.

You collect lint in your armpits.

You babble "da-da-da", "ba-ba-ba", "na-na-na", and most recently "ma-ma-ma,"
which I happen to be particularly excited about.

You often have to hum/moan to yourself while I rock you to sleep.

You think a pacifier is a toy.

You're the most beautiful baby boy I've ever seen.

You are loved.

You are forever a part of this family.

  4. I love the lint in the armpits thing! Maeve does the humming/chanting herself to sleep. It's a form of self-soothing...happening less and less now.
